Gulf Coast Web Design Questions

Honest answers to everything people ask before starting a project with us. No fluff, no deflection.

If you run a practice or a professional service business, you have spent years earning the trust of the people who walk through your door. You know what it is like to work with clients who have real questions and deserve straight answers. We operate the same way.

Below are the questions we hear most often. If yours is not here, email us and we will answer it the same way. Directly and without padding.

Getting started

4 questions

How do I actually get started?

You send us a message through the contact form or by email. That is the whole first step. We will reply within one business day with a few questions about your practice, your goals, and what you have going on already.

There is no sales call required. No intake packet. Just a straightforward conversation to make sure we understand what you are building and that we are the right fit for it. If you want to go ahead, you pick a plan and we get to work. It is a short process by design. You are busy enough.

How long does it take to build my site?

For most sites, the average is two to six business days from the time we have what we need from you. That window is not padding. It reflects how long it actually takes to do the work well.

The biggest variable is how quickly you can get us your content: a few photos, a short description of your services, and any specific details your patients need to know. We handle the writing and structure, but we need enough about your practice to do it accurately. The faster that comes in, the faster you are live.

What do you need from me?

Not much. After you sign up, we send a short questionnaire. Usually around ten questions covering your services, your location, how customers reach you, what you want them to do when they land on the site, and a few specifics about your business.

If you have a logo, that helps. If you have photos of your office or staff, even better. If you have nothing, we work with what we can find and create something clean and professional regardless. Most of our clients hand us very little and are still happy with the result because we know how to ask the right questions.

What if I already have a website?

We can replace it, which is what most clients in this situation do. If there are specific pages or content from your current site that you want to keep, we work from those. If the current site is outdated or just not working for you, we start fresh and build something that actually does the job.

Your domain points to the new site once it is ready. The transition is typically invisible to visitors. The URL does not change, and we manage the DNS handoff so there is no gap where your site is down.

The process

4 questions

Will I see the site before it goes live?

Yes, always. We build a live preview on a private link first. You get to click through every page, read every word, and tell us what needs to change. Nothing goes on your domain until you approve it.

We do not put up a site and call it done without your sign-off. That would be a bad way to run a service business, and we know it.

How do revisions work?

After you review the preview, you send us your feedback and we make the changes. Usually within 24 hours. Most clients go through one or two rounds before they are happy. There is no arbitrary limit on revision rounds before launch. We just want the site to be right.

Once you are live, revisions come out of your monthly update hours depending on your plan. A typical change request like updating a service description, adding a staff member, or changing hours takes well under an hour.

What happens if I am just not happy with the direction?

We talk about it. Honestly. If the first preview misses the mark, tell us specifically what feels off and we reset. We would rather spend extra time getting it right than have you settle for something you are not proud of.

In the rare case where we genuinely cannot get to a result you are happy with, we will work something out. We are a small service on the Gulf Coast, not a faceless agency. Our reputation depends on clients who are actually satisfied, not clients who paid and walked away disappointed.

Do I have to do anything to maintain the site after it is live?

Nothing. That is the point of the monthly plan. Hosting is paid, SSL is renewed, updates are deployed, and your site stays up. If something breaks, we fix it. If Google changes something that affects how your site is indexed, we address it. You run your business. We handle the technical side.

Content and copy

3 questions

Do you write the content for my site?

Yes. Writing is part of what we do, not an add-on. We write the page copy based on what you tell us about your business in the questionnaire. You do not need to hand us draft paragraphs or worry about sounding good on paper. That is our job.

What we will ask for: the specific services you offer, anything unique about how you practice, and the things your patients ask most often. That context is what separates copy that converts from copy that just fills space.

What about photos? Do I need professional photos?

Professional photos help, but they are not required. A clean photo of your office exterior, a headshot, and a few interior shots taken on a modern phone are usually enough to build something that looks polished.

If you have nothing, we use high-quality licensed stock photography that fits your specialty. Sites benefit from imagery that feels calm, clean, and trustworthy. There is a wide range of that available. We match the feel to your business so it does not look generic.

Will my site be accurate to my specific specialty?

That is one of the reasons we ask detailed questions up front. A prosthetics and orthotics site needs different language, different trust signals, and different page structure than an orthodontics site or a chiropractic clinic. We do not paste the same template on every healthcare client.

If your specialty has terminology or patient concerns that are specific to your field, we write to that. You will review everything before it goes live, so if something reads off, you catch it and we fix it.

Ownership and control

4 questions

Do I own my website?

On monthly plans, you own the content and the domain, and the site runs on our hosting infrastructure as part of your plan. Think of it like a commercial lease for the building rather than owning the building outright.

On our pay-once Build plans, you own everything outright. We deliver the complete site files and you host it wherever you like. There is no ongoing dependency on us unless you want one.

Either way, we are not in the business of holding your content hostage. If you leave, you leave with your domain and your content. That is a basic professional standard we hold ourselves to.

What happens if I want to cancel?

You can cancel your monthly plan at any time. There is no long-term contract and no penalty for leaving. We just ask for reasonable notice so we can wrap up cleanly.

When you cancel, your site will come down from our hosting at the end of your billing period. If you want to take the site files and move to another hosting provider, we hand those over. We will not shut you down overnight or make the exit complicated.

Can I use my existing domain name?

Yes. If you already have a domain registered somewhere. GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, wherever. We just need access to update the DNS records. We walk you through exactly what to do, or you give us access and we handle it entirely. Either way, your customers keep the same address they have always used.

Can I log in and edit the site myself?

The sites we build are on a modern React stack, which means they are not built on WordPress or a drag-and-drop editor. They are coded, which is why they are fast and reliable. But it also means there is no admin panel to log into and click around.

That said, this is exactly what the monthly update hours are for. Rather than you spending time learning a content manager and worrying about breaking something, you send us what needs to change and it is done, usually the same day. Most of our clients find this significantly less frustrating than managing a CMS themselves.

After launch

4 questions

How do I request a change or update?

Through your client portal, through email, or through the contact form. Whatever is easiest for you. You describe what you want changed, we confirm we understand it, and we push it live. For routine updates like changing office hours, adding a service, or swapping a staff photo, turnaround is usually the same day.

For larger requests like adding a new full page, we scope it and let you know how it fits within your monthly hours. Nothing surprises you.

What if my site goes down or something breaks?

We handle it. The infrastructure we deploy on has extremely strong uptime, but technology is never perfect. If your site goes down or something is broken, contact us and we treat it as urgent. We are not going to put a ticket in a queue for a live site that is down. That is not acceptable for any professional practice.

Can I add more pages later?

Yes. Sites are not static. Your business grows, you add services, you bring on staff. If you need a new page after launch, we add it. Depending on the size, it may draw from your monthly update hours or we may quote it separately. Either way you know the cost before we do the work.

Will you help if I change my practice name or rebrand?

Yes. A rebrand is a real project and we treat it as one. We update copy, swap logos, adjust colors, and make sure the new identity is consistent across every page. If the domain changes too, we handle that transition so nothing is left pointing to the old name.

Pricing and billing

5 questions

What exactly is included in the monthly fee?

Hosting, SSL certificate, site maintenance, and your monthly update hours can all be handled together. We explain what is included clearly, without surprise line items when your traffic grows.

The monthly fee covers the cost of keeping the site running reliably and available to your patients around the clock. The update hours cover the ongoing care of the content. That is it.

Are there any hidden fees I should know about?

No. The setup and build fee you pay upfront, and the monthly rate are the numbers. If something outside your plan comes up. A large new section, a custom feature, a full redesign. We quote it separately and you decide whether to proceed. We do not add charges without a conversation first.

What is the difference between the monthly plans and the pay-once Build plans?

Monthly plans include the build, hosting, and ongoing support in a combined structure: you pay a setup fee once, then a monthly rate that covers everything going forward. This is the right choice if you want us to manage and maintain the site long term.

Build plans are a single one-time payment. We build the site, hand you the files, and the relationship ends there unless you want to bring us back for something. You host it yourself and maintain it yourself. This works well for clients who have internal support or a specific hosting setup they prefer.

Can I switch from one plan to another?

Yes. If you start on Starter and your practice grows to the point where you need more pages and more monthly update time, we can move you to Growth or Pro. The adjustment is prorated and straightforward. Just email us and we work out the details.

Is there a contract or minimum commitment?

No annual contract. Monthly plans are month-to-month. We earn your business every month by doing good work, not by locking you into a term. Frankly, any agency that needs a contract to keep clients should examine why.

Technical and security

5 questions

Will my site look good on a phone?

Every site we build is fully responsive. That is not a feature we add. It is the baseline. More than half of all web traffic comes from mobile devices, and most local searches happen on a phone. Your site works cleanly on every screen size, always.

What about Google and search rankings?

We set up every site with the technical foundation that search engines expect: clean page titles and meta descriptions, structured headings, a sitemap, a robots.txt file, fast load times, mobile compatibility, and HTTPS. That is the baseline every site ships with.

Higher tiers include local business schema markup, which specifically helps businesses show up in map results and local searches. Our top tier includes a more thorough analytics and search setup.

To be direct: we will not promise you page-one rankings. Anyone who does is overselling. What we can promise is a technically clean site that does not penalize you with search engines, and a proper structure that gives you the best realistic foundation for organic visibility in your area.

Is my patient contact form HIPAA compliant?

This is an important question and we want to answer it honestly. Contact forms on your site collect basic information like names, email addresses, and messages. That information is sent to your email inbox.

We design contact forms carefully to avoid collecting protected health information unnecessarily. However, full HIPAA compliance for a patient communication workflow goes beyond the website itself and involves how your practice handles and stores that information on your end.

If you require a fully HIPAA-compliant intake and scheduling system, we can integrate with a third-party HIPAA-compliant form or scheduling service and embed it into your site. That is a conversation worth having if it applies to your practice.

How fast will my site load?

Fast. We build on a React stack deployed to a global CDN, which means your site is served from servers geographically close to your visitors. Images are compressed, code is optimized, and fonts load without blocking the page.

In practical terms: pages typically load in under two seconds on a standard connection. That matters for patient experience and it matters for search rankings. Slow sites hurt both.

What technology do you build on and why does it matter?

We build on React deployed through modern cloud infrastructure. Reliable and fast. It is the same category of technology powering large-scale web applications, scaled down to work efficiently for a small business site.

The practical reason this matters to you: sites built on modern stacks load faster, break less often, and are easier to update without introducing errors. Compared to older WordPress or website-builder platforms, there is no plugin ecosystem to maintain, no security patches to remember, and no performance degradation as the site grows.

You do not need to understand any of this to benefit from it. The outcome is a site that works, stays up, and does not embarrass your practice in front of the patients you have worked hard to earn.

Still have a question?

We check email regularly and respond the same day during business hours. Send us whatever is on your mind. No commitment required, no sales pressure on the other end.
